Continental Export Control Manager (China) in Shanghai, China

This role will support Export Control and Sanctions matters in China, covering all Sectors, cooperating with Export Control Business Partners in each Sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of export control and sanctions compliance and demonstrate a strong ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

  1. Communicate on the Continental AG Export Control Strategy

  2. Stay in close contact with Export Control Coordinators in China, others Export Control Managers, Business Partners, and the Export Control Department

  3. Serve as the interface between Export Control Coordinators and the Export Control Department▪ Support implementation of internal Export Control Guideline as well as international and local export control regulations

  4. Develops and manages export control projects▪ Provide appropiate trainings according the Export Control Training Program▪ Support Export Control Coordinators for the Export Control classification of products

  5. Act as a key user for export control systems▪ Support the Export Control Department and Engineering Team in the classificaiton of new and existing products

  6. Prepare authorization on Export Control Status to enable certain business, aligning with the Validation & Escalation process▪ Monitor changes in export control regulations affecting responsbile country(China) and ensure company compliance

  7. Aid in updating internal policies and procedures in response to regulatory changes▪ Identify and assess risks related to export control, develop mitigation strategies, implement them, and monitor their effectiveness▪ Liaise with government authorities and industry groups on export control matters. .

Education / Certification

Bachelor Degree in International Trade, Law, Administration, Economics, or related filed. A master's degree or higher will be considered an asset.

Professional Experience

2+ years of experience in export control and sanctions roles, with a preference for experience in the automotive, tire, or related industries.

Project and/or Process Experience

Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and management of export control and sanctions compliance programs

Leadership Experience

Although direct reports are not a part of this role, basic leadership skills are expected to influence and guide cross-functional teams towards compliance goals.

Intercultural / International Experience

Experience working in or with diverse cultures, particularly within the APAC region, is preferred, but not mandatory.
