Continental Automation Technician in Plymouth, Indiana

The company has its own 300-mph test wheel; a technology center; state-of-the-art, fully-integrated production facilities recently adding a high-tech mixing plant, with enough capacity to produce not only for Hoosier Racing Tire, but to have the ability to produce rubber for additional entities as well as a model sales and distribution network.

Our Hoosier location at Plymouth, IN is seeking a Automation Technician to join our team.

Essential Functions: (Individual tasks, duties and responsibilities of the position accounting for highest % of time)

1. Plan and aggressively pursue equipment and building projects. These projects will include: overhauls, upgrades, re-designs and installations. New and rebuilt equipment must be tracked using Reliability and Maintainability guidelines and techniques from conception to decommissioning. 2. Coordinate with Plant Engineering department on schedules for labor, materials, downtime requirements and estimates of downtime length for individual projects. 3. Work with Plant Engineering Staff to lower vendor base by:

A. Standardizing components to equipment types by make, model and distributor.

B. Specifying standardized components to equipment vendors/rebuilders. C. Specifying the best component available at the best price.
  1. Compose and maintain equipment files, support documents, machine control media/programs, BOM's, drawings, manuals and updates to the CMM database.

  2. Perform various duties involving machine support, and engineering design work.

  3. Compose (Electronically or sketched) instructions, BOM's and wire schedules needed by Maintenance personnel for upgrades, installations and engineering changes.

  4. Pursue training, mentoring, and offer instruction to maintenance personnel.

  5. Provide training, mentoring, and offer instruction to junior Automation Technicians.

  6. Provide expert knowledge and be a leading point of contact for all projects involving Automation Technicians.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.

  • 5 Years Automation Experience.

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. is required.

  • Limited travel within the US is required.
