Job Description

Continental in Norfolk Nebraska has a need for Maintenance Technicians with an Electro-Mechanical or related degree or has a minimum of 5 years of Industrial Maintenance experience in areas listed in this job posting. This individual will perform a variety of duties involved in the installation, alterations, maintenance, development and repair of plant machinery, equipment, facilities, and structures.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain a variety of mechanical, electrical and manufacturing equipment and machinery

  • Set up and operate machining tools such as engine lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinders, alter or construct replacement parts, recondition production tooling

  • Maintain plant plumbing, heating, cooling, and related facilities and equipment

  • Read and understand electrical diagrams and blueprints

  • Knowledge of PLCS, electronic and mechanical systems

  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Identify and resolve problems before they become costly

  • Welding, fabrication and machining skills

  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge and utilization of lean manufacturing tools

  • Assume the job of temporary team leader on a rotational basis

  • Good verbal and written communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organization

  • Required to maintain certifications of plant safety and housekeeping practices

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing

  • Work in a fast pace environment with changing priorities

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing

  • Other duties as necessary

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A 2 ­year Electro ­Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or related degree OR has a minimum of 5 years of Industrial Maintenance experience with experience in areas listed in this job posting.

  • Willing to work rotating shifts (days to nights)

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

  • Previous maintenance or manufacturing experience

  • Hands on experience in a maintenance or mechanical capacity

  • Knowledge of PLC’s, electronic & mechanical systems

  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems

  • Industrial electrician experience

  • Welding, fabrication and machining skills

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools & techniques.

  • Passion for quality workmanship

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
