Continental Intern - Supply Chain Analyst, Year-Round in Fort Mill, South Carolina

The America’s headquarters located in Fort Mill, South Carolina is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Analyst Intern to join our Supply Chain team! The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is dependable and accountable.

Role includes 60% of the time onsite in Fort Mill, SC and the rest remote.

The Supply Management department oversees steering and balancing tire manufacturing capacities in our region, with plants located in US, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil. The department plays a crucial role into guaranteeing availability of the goods to the different sales organizations, while optimizing global manufacturing footprint and adjusting sourcing dynamically depending on latest insights and trends

Main responsibilities:

  • The intern will lead several continuous improvement projects in parallel with the aim of improving the efficiency of the supply chain management processes at Continental.

  • The projects will be determined at time of hiring to maximize value creation for the company, as well as, for the learning opportunities.

  • The projects will involve extensive best practice sharing between our Passenger & Light Truck Tires and Truck Tires manufacturing organizations, benchmarking, internal optimization, with a focus on standardization of processes and information flows.

  • The projects will involve some international exposure, with frequent exchanges with our plants throughout the Americas (from U.S. to Brazil).

  • The intern will also support the reporting responsibilities of the department on a weekly basis.

  • The intern will help enhance knowledge retention in the department by assisting into process documentation and enabling the right training tools to strengthen succession planning.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a US accredited degree program for the next 12 months

  • Student working towards a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Data Analysis, or related field

  • Available to work a minimum of 20+ hours a week during normal business hours (Mon-Fri), 60% of those onsite at our Tire Headquarters in Ft Mill, SC

  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.8 or higher

  • Able to come onsite to our Fort Mill, SC Tire HQs 3 days/week

  • Intercultural sensitivity

  • Strong communication skills

  • Some exposure to project management techniques

  • Strong Excel proficiency

  • Team player

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project management experience

  • Available to work a minimum of 24+ hrs/week up to 40 hrs/week

  • Master's student, Junior, or Senior class standing

  • Advanced analytical thinking
