Continental Business Team Leader Cold Preparation in Alor Setar, Malaysia

Alor Setar is the state capital of Kedah, Malaysia, and Kota Setar District's Administrative Centre. It is also a distribution center for manufacturing and agricultural products such as paddy, and is the royal seat of the Kedah state since the establishment of this city. The city, which has an urban population of approximately more than 550,000, is one of the region’s oldest cities.

Continental Tyre Alor Setar began its operation on 20th December, 1979, and was then known as IT International Sdn. Bhd. In 1986, the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Sime Darby Berhad and the company name was changed to Sime Tyres.

In 2002, Sime Tyres signed a Technical Agreement with Continental AG. In 2003, Continental AG acquired a 51% share in the company which was then called Continental Sime Tyre Sdn. Bhd. In 2005, the shareholding is 70% Continental AG and 30% Sime Darby Berhad.

Since May 2012, Continental Tyre Malaysia is 100% owned by Continental AG.

The tire plant in Alor Setar produces products mainly for the APAC market. In addition to that, the plant also produces ZD (Zero Degree) for the US and EU market. The plant brand portfolio consists of Continental, Dunlop and Viking.

Overall responsibility to assist evaluating, planning, leading, organising and controlling the Section, resources, processes and systems in production in order to ensure the highest level of safety, quality, efficiency and productivity. Responsible for compliance with all regulatory and company rules and regulations regarding safety, environment and health.

Ensuring that all Quality, Environment, Safety and Health management systems conform with requirements of International Standard (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 46001) by adhering to clause related to Roles & Responsibilities

Planning, leading, organising and controlling of daily activities in BT to achieve required volume and orders using MMS/CGMS/MCAT and CBT process

Daily and weekly reviewing of inefficiencies and losses within his BT together with corrective actions to improve and sustain results, focussing on TEEP

Daily planning and allocation of resources within CBT to ensure that objectives are met.

Accept the responsibility and striving for excellence in all work processes and outcomes, honouring organization policies and all regulatory requirements

Ensure that quality standards and procedures are followed during shift to produce good quality products

Daily management and pre-approval of overtime to ensure OT target are achieved

Management of LDC, MDC and Fixed cost within the approved Budget or Forecast

Monthly headcount planning based on volume requirements

Responsible to ensure that his subordinates adhere to company policy and regulations by enforcing applicable rules

Responsible to apply required disciplinary procedures with subordinates that does not follow company policy and rules

Responsible to apply PEP for subordinates which are not performing to required standard

Responsible for identifying specific training needs for his team members and ensure the development and training of his people are carried out via support from SFT and HR.

Take leadership role to achieve all CBT goals and objectives

Completion of daily production reports and corrective actions when goals are not met

To empower CBT2 and CBT1 on the ownership to comply and ensure machineries, MHE and floor area 5S are above than 4.0 ratings at all times.

Bachelor Degree in Business/ Engineering/Manufacturing field.

Minimum 5 years experience in Manufacturing Production environment
